Incense ash, driftwood and stones on floor

various dimension

“If death occurs only once, we have no chance to recognize it. Fortunately, life is a dance of life  and death, impermanent rhythm.” From The Book of Living and Dying by Sogyal Rinpoche

Ephemeral Garden is an interactive installation. It is made of collected driftwoods, stones, and dried pine tree branches. The floor is decorated with ripples that are drawn with ashes and powder. Viewers are invited to wander in the garden;  their footsteps will destroy the drawings on the floor, and ashes will be taken away.
